Strange pain inside my torso (that can't be felt from outside)

Since I woke up on Sunday (7th January), there has been this pain which I feel is located inside my torso, and it can't be felt from the outside (i.e. if I press any region of my torso I can't feel the pain get worse). Also, changing positions from sitting to standing or vice versa; or from lying down to getting up or vice versa doesn't increase or descrease the pain. It is only triggered when I twist my upper body to the right or to the left, and it feels as if the pain is coming from something hanging (maybe from the esophagus, but from its back side). Also, it is not a burning sensation, but a regular pain.

The pain is not severe at all, but since Sunday the problem has always been there. Whenever I go to sleep I hope the pain will go away the next morning but no--it is always there.

I haven't seen a doctor yet because I'm thinking this pain could be associated with the withdrawal (especially when I tapered too fast as you can see from my signature) and it will go away on its own. That is why I want to ask if anyone here has felt the same kind of pain during withdrawal, so that I can rest assured that this is not something serious.

Today I have upped my dose from 10mg to 20mg, because I was stable at 20mg for two weeks before I dropped to 10mg.

P.S. The day this problem started, I had eaten a small pack of sardines the night before. This I think is the first time I've eaten sardines, so I guess the problem started because of that.

I'm going to ask the obvious question --- were there any bones in the sardines that could have lodged in your throat?

You may have just twisted wrong in your sleep. It's only Tuesday, so give it a few days and if it doesn't go away, or gets worse, call the doctor.

Sardine bones are soft and mushy; so that wouldn't be an issue. I'm also confused by the date....Sunday was the third of January, not the seventh.

Re: Strange pain inside my torso (that can't be felt from outside)

Hi Juwane

I get a lot of pains in my torso too. I'm not qualified to tell you what it is, but I do think that digestion problems are very common on SSRIs or withdrawal. I think it's POSSIBLE that it's related to that. I definitely get a lot of indigestion, bloating etc these days and this can cause pain.

2003 - up to 40mg (problems at work)
2004 - back to 20mg
Spring 2005 - came off tablets quickly. Problems started after 3/4 months
Jan 2006 - back on 20mg
April 2008 - started a 6 month taper
Oct 2008 - free of Seroxat

Now - doing OK, but have anxiety and various withdrawal symptoms. Biggest problems are sweating (affects my work) and tinnitus.

I'm replying late because of internet problems. No, there weren't any bones in the sardines, and yes I too think I may have twisted wrong in my sleep, because when I bent over the sink for just 5 minutes I had a horrible lower back pain. But likewise it could also be related to withdrawal.
